Ryo and Dee had decided early on in their relationship that when it came to date nights, they should take turns deciding what they should do, where they should have dinner, whatever. It had seemed only fair.

While Dee hadn’t always been enthusiastic about his lover’s choices of activity, he was definitely having his horizons broadened, even discovering he enjoyed things he otherwise might never have tried. He’d been hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, and visited more museums and art galleries than he’d known existed.

It worked both ways, of course. Ryo had never been as much into sports as Dee was, but he never objected to his partner dragging him along to watch a game. He even took part in the occasional friendly softball game, or spent a few hours shooting hoops with Dee.

They tried everything they could think of: Bowling, ice skating, mini golf, took a sight-seeing tour around their own city along with a bunch of tourists from other countries, went to the movies, the theatre, concerts of all kinds, and of course they went clubbing to dance the night away.

Dates were a time to explore and discover as much about each other as possible, and no matter what they did, even if the activity ended up not being to their tastes, they still had fun simply because they were together.

The whole escape room thing probably wasn’t the best idea though. They were paired with two other couples, but ended up solving the whole thing themselves before the other four participants could even make any suggestions.

“Have you done this before?” one of the other men asked after they were out in hardly more than half an hour.

“Nope, first and last time.” Dee grinned sheepishly. “I guess bein’ detectives gives us an unfair advantage.”
