The test was sitting on the counter in front of her. They had been so careful, except for that one time that Molly had sworn she wasn't overly fertile because she had been nowhere close to ovulation after her period. It seemed that she had been wrong. She laid her hand over her belly and looked at herself in the mirror. They were two months from the wedding, and while this wasn't a goal at the moment, she knew that Donny wasn't going to be that upset about it. The worst part was telling her father. She had no clue how he was going to react to her being pregnant out of wedlock, though at least they had been engaged with the wedding date set and everything planned by the time that they got pregnant.

Molly turned and looked at her belly. She wasn't anywhere near close enough to really be showing yet, or at least she thought so. She wasn't sure. What she did know was that she was about two months along. The first missed period wasn't that big of a deal. When she was super stressed, as she had been two months ago, she could miss her period. Between a case she was working on and the wedding planning changes, she had been super stressed during this period. This one that should have started a week ago and been the clue that something else was going on.

"Hey, Babe, I'm home," Donny called out. There was the sound of him getting down the bag of groceries that he had gone out to get, giving her more than enough time to take the test after he had been home early from work due to a concussion the day before. He was better today, and the doctor had told him to do what he felt comfortable with. The headache the day before was the biggest issue, even with the low-grade concussion.

"In the bathroom," Molly yelled back. She wasn't going to keep this from him. There was no point in her life when she wanted to do that. There was no reason to. She took a steadying breath, and then she heard the knock on the door. She moved to block the test and then looked at the door. "Come in."

Donny came in with the box of tampons she liked for during the day and the pads she liked at night. She knew that she had been running low on both. "I got you that ice cream you like when you are on your period as well, since I didn't see a container of it in the freezer. I got those dried fruits you like."

Molly couldn't help it. She started to cry from it. Donny was there holding her tightly as he made noises that were supposed to be comforting. Then his hands stopped as they moved over her back. One settled on her waist and held on tight.

"Molly?"

"That's the second one," Molly said. The other was back inside the box. It had been a two-pack, and Molly had wanted to be sure.

"The second..." Donny pulled back, and he looked at her for a few seconds before he cupped her cheeks. "And it was a yes?"

"Yes," Molly said.

Donny kissed her. It was like that first kiss he had given her when he had been so unsure of himself. He pulled back, grinning from ear to ear. "I guess that you'll need to have alterations done to the dress."

"I think I want to donate that one and get one that would show off my belly, whatever kind of belly I have. There is a lady who specializes in wedding dresses for pregnant women. So I thought I would call her tomorrow to see if she can fit me in."

"Whatever you want. It's our wedding, but I don't care what you wear." Donny laughed, and he leaned in to kiss her again. "Well, I guess that's wrong. There are things I wouldn't want you wearing, but then I think that maybe you wouldn't want to wear anything like that either." Donny waggled his eyebrows at her.

Molly slapped his arm, and he moved quickly, scooping her up and carrying her to the bed. He dropped her down and looked at her with so much love in his eyes. He braced himself up on one arm and looked down at where her belly was. He then scooted down to kiss the belly. Molly flipped her shirt up to where he could see her flesh.

Lying like that, she could see the swell that was already there. It was faint, but only because she knew her body.

"I guess that you were not so far from ovulating that you could be on your period."

"I guess not. I mean, we said that we would deal with it if something happened. I just kind of forgot when I didn't get my period last month that we had gone without a condom that one night because the store had been out of your brand you prefer."

Donny laughed and kissed her stomach, peppering the swell with so many kisses. He was going to be a great father, and he had been looking forward to starting that. It was why she had gone off her birth control and wanted a few good periods under her belt before they started to try. It had been set for a honeymoon pregnancy. Now, she was going to be pregnant at the wedding.

"You know what this means, right?" Donny asked.

"That we are going to have to tell my father before anyone else?"

"There is that, but I meant that we don't need to worry about condoms at all for like seven more months."

Molly laughed, and she grabbed at what she could reach of Donny to drag him up into a kiss. She loved this dork so much.

---

Molly opened the door to her father, standing there with a bag of groceries in his hands and a twinkle in his eyes. She tried to take the groceries, but he kept them out of her reach.

She stepped back to allow him into the house and looked around to find where Donny had gotten himself to. The place wasn't fully where they wanted it yet, but it was something that they were working on. Moving while planning a wedding had been the most stupid thing in the world. They loved the backyard, and it was where the ceremony was going to take place. It was going to be something small, Molly's small family, and the family that Donny had made at work.

"Dad, what's going on?"

"You'll see. Where is Rocker?"

Molly raised an eyebrow, and her father rolled his eyes.

He took a breath."Where is Donovan?"

Donny was beyond saying for her father, but at least Donovan was good enough. She didn't like him being called Rocker when he was home like this. Donny didn't mind, but it was something that Molly wanted. Her father was never called Hicks when he was home unless his teams were there.

The others could call him Rocker, but she wasn't going to let her father do it.

"He went to change out the clothes from the washer to the dryer."

"Okay. I'll head to the kitchen, and you guys can join me."

Molly was so confused. They were going to be grilling out because Donny's team had gotten together to get him a really good grill for their housewarming present. He loved to cook on it, and her father loved to eat food off it.

Dad went to the kitchen, and Molly debated following him, but she was going to be nice and do what he wanted. She waited in the living room while Donny finished what he was doing. It was his workout clothes, so he took care of them.

"Where is your father?" Donny asked.

"In the kitchen. He had a bag of something that he refused to show me. I'm actually a little scared."

Donny wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close to just hold her. She took a few deep breaths before she allowed Donny to direct her to the kitchen.

Everything in the bag, or at least what she hoped was everything in the bed, was on display on the counter. It was a lot of random things that didn't make sense at all. Until she realized that she had been craving a few of them and was not able to find them. Things her mother had loved to snack on when Molly had been younger. Then there were a few other things that were morning sickness cures. He knew.

"Dad," Molly said.

"You hate ginger ale. You hate it so much that, as a kid, we had to never have it in the house. The thought of looking at it made you want to throw a tantrum. Then the other day, I saw a case of it in Donny's car when he had stopped by to sign paperwork. I met him outside. If I'm wrong, well, I'll donate the stuff to a women's shelter or something."

"You aren't mad?" Molly asked.

"I'm a worldly man. I've grown. You two are close to marrying, and if the condom broke or this was a choice you made, I'm fine. I had a day to get over the idea that it was going to make you look like less. Don't remind me of 60-squad and that one guy."

Donny laughed.

Molly would have to ask about that later because she had no idea what he was talking about.

"So, I'm sure that I ruined some kind of big reveal where you try to tell me all about how you respect my daughter, and that this changes nothing, but it changes everything. I'm going to help with anything and everything that you need. I'll wait to be asked, but I want to help. I made a promise to your mother that I would be there for all of the things that she was going to miss. Make sure that the only thing you miss about your mother is that she was not there."

Molly went around the counter and hugged her father tightly.

"Get over here," Dad said.

Molly felt Donny to the side, wrapping his arms around the both of them.

"You have to tell JP. I'll not ruin that for you."

Molly laughed at her father. He had figured it out from one case of ginger ale in Donny's car. She knew that her father was happy for her because she could feel the tears on his face when she and he were smashed together.

"This baby is going to be spoiled," Donny said.

"Damn right they will be," Dad said as he finally started to let go.

Donny let go as soon as Dad moved. Molly looked at two of the three most important men in her life. She wished that JP could be there, but he was busy and planned on coming over that weekend. She was looking forward to telling him that he was going to be an uncle.

There was nothing but happiness in her future.

The End
