Summary: “What did the captain do?” Harry asked, oblivious to Tom’s ramblings.

“Harry, the captain, she just...” Tom tried and failed to articulate his observations.

“What did the captain do?” Harry asked, oblivious to Tom’s ramblings.

Tom placed his hand on Harry’s shoulder, “She tugged on her right ear, the way that Chakotay often does.”

“So what?”

“You know what that means.”

Harry sighed, realising he’d need to placate his best friend’s giddiness over something potentially insignificant. “No I don’t know and maybe it’s not what it looks like.”

“It’s exactly what it looks like.”

“People sometimes pick up the habits of their friends, it doesn’t mean anything.”

“You’d better be right.”
