"Heya, Carlos. Care to tell me what exactly it is you're doing to my apartment?" I asked as I watched the young man attempting to wrestle an evergreen through the front door.

"I'm trying to bring a little Christmas in here." He grunted one more time as he tugged and the tree finally popped through the doorway.

"Dude, that thing is bigger than my whole apartment. This is not going to work." My apartment really wasn't all that large - there's a couch and a chair and a fireplace and some bookshelves.

"It'll be fine," Carlos insisted.

"You do remember I heat this place with fire, right? That thing is kindling. And air pollution."

Carlos frowned first at me, then at the tree. "Okay. Maybe we get you something more Charlie Brown."

"Good grief."
