Summary: “I did Lindo, but it has come with a price.”

Bart had made a silent promise to herself to not cry any more today. She was still losing that battle.

“Did Katie have family?” Lindo asked, glancing at Bart as she slowly swiped at her lower eyelids with her thumbs.

“Her Dad’s coming in some time this week to identify the body and make the arrangements for the funeral.”

Lindo glanced at her again, he decided not to ask if she’d was planning on attending the funeral of the drug addict she’d saved on a stakeout. He instinctively knew she would be. “Mac promoted you to Acting D.I.” he carefully mentioned.

“I did Lindo, but it has come with a price.” Bart shook her head, slowly adding, “Mallick’s suspension.”

“His downfall is his own fault Bart. Mallick was too arrogant to tell Mac that his brother had a connection to the Ketamine smuggling and tried to hide it from us.”
