Basking in the afterglow of their lovemaking, Spike placed his head on Buffy’s chest, lulled by the pounding of her heart. Her fingers combed through his tousled curls, caressing his scalp, while she pulled the covers up to his shoulders, enveloping them both in a cocoon of blankets and warmth.
“Are you already sleepy?” she asked, tracing the line of his jaw.
“Just relaxing, luv,” he mumbled.
“Because making love to me is stressful?”
Spike lifted his head, frowning. “That’s… not what I said.”
“I’m messing with you,” she grinned mischievously, leaning in to kiss the scar on his eyebrow.

“You know? This scar totally gives you the ‘I’m sexy and dangerous’ look,” she said, her eyes still twinkling with mischief.
He arched his scarred brow. “You remember that’s from when I bagged my first Slayer, don’t you?”
“Way to kill the mood,” she groused. “Couldn’t you just accept the compliment?”
“Of course, pet. Compliment accepted.”
Buffy pouted. “No, now you’ve ruined it.”
“What if I snog you until you’re breathless?” he whispered, caressing her lips. “That oughta turn this pout upside down.”
She threw her arms around his shoulders. “What are you waiting for? Less talkage, more breathtaking kissage.”
