When Buffy’s stake pierced Vampire Cowboy’s chest, his eyes widened in shock just seconds before he turned to dust. What? Had they never heard about the Slayer in Texas?
“Sorry to cut your vacation short… not,” she mumbled, resuming her patrol, but stopped again when she spotted Spike’s old abode.
A maelstrom of mixed feelings surged and battled inside her. Clem, who had moved in to stop other demons from occupying the crypt in Spike’s absence, wasn’t living there anymore. Which meant that he wasn’t expecting to see Spike again.
Old wounds ripped open, bleeding anew. She turned, walking away.
