Dee was almost to the doors when he saw Ryo’s car pull into the precinct’s parking lot and stop in its assigned spot beside his own. He wiped the frown from his face as he turned around, wandering over to greet his lover, trying to hide his disappointment.

“Hey. Thought you said you were gonna cycle in today if the weather was good enough. That sure don’t look like your bike.” He’d been looking forward to seeing Ryo arrive in his tight bicycle shorts and helmet, flushed and a bit sweaty from the ride, but here his partner was, dressed in his regular work clothes, which were perfectly fine, Ryo always looked good, just not as sexy and revealing as those shorts.

“Yeah, that was the plan.” Ryo smiled ruefully. “But, turns out I’ve developed a slow leak.”

Dee grinned; he couldn’t help himself. “A leak, huh? I could maybe help ya with that.”

A blush heated Ryo’s cheeks and he sighed, exasperated at the insinuation, even though he knew better than anyone how his lover’s mind worked.

“In my bicycle’s rear tire, hornball! I didn’t have time to find and fix it before work, and I’d already missed the bus, so I had to drive. I’m hoping I can deal with the leak tonight, then maybe I can cycle in tomorrow.”

“Want me to come over after work, lend a hand or two? You know how good I am with my hands.” Dee did his best to repress a smirk.

“You know much about patching tires?”

“Nope, not a thing, but I’m willin’ to learn. You know, in case I ever get a leak of my own.” Dee winked, and Ryo shook his head.

“How do you manage to turn everything into an innuendo?”

Dee laughed. “It’s my superpower.”
