“What, ma’am?” Abigail questions, having noticed the look on Shannon’s face whenever some topics were brought up.

Shannon sighs, “I was going to say ‘don’t exist anymore’, but I figured I shouldn’t say that, given everything.” She gives Abigail a look as a hint, “Silesia Command’s survivors know it, if that's what you’re asking, Abigail. There’s actually a good handful of songs from the sector that we stole from them.”

“Did you learn them, ma’am?” Abigail asks.

“Yes, I did. They all- well most of them, got their lyrics rewritten, but I learned both the French and the German, or sometimes English lyrics, like a decent number of Havenite officers who deployed there more than once.”

She takes a sip of her drink, before searching up a static-filled recording and singing along, “We are proud of the Fifth Squadron, and the fight for Saginaw they made…”

She looks at Abigail, and nods, “You want to sing the chorus with me?” Abigail looks hesitant, before nodding. After all, it’s not often

“There’s a sector to our northwest, called the Silesian Confederacy…” Shannon prompts, forcing a hint of a casual smile, as she tries to relax. During an instrumental section, she explains, “This song actually predates the ‘Disaster-Federacy’ nickname, but it’s often sung that way, as well.”

After the song finishes, Shannon explains, “You guys may have thought of the sector as a training zone, for working up new units. We used to, or so the stories go.”
