A/N: I got really sidetracked writing this and at a point my document was just Trent talking about emo bands. It got cut out but it existed.

“Ow- ow, Ted, you’re pulling my hair-”

“Sorry, I’m almost done,” Ted replies apologetically, but not ceasing his twisting on Trent’s hair, “You know, I dated a cosmologist once?”

“Really?”

“Wait no, cosmetologist. But we broke up after I grew a goatee.”

“Not because she needed space?” Trent muses.

Ted doesn’t answer, instead, he finishes his task and steps back to admire his handiwork, “There, all done. What do you think?”

Trent looks in the mirror and grimaces. There are seemingly random braids scattering his head with little clip-on bows. Glittery butterflies and neon flowers top the whole thing off. He awkwardly stammers, “Is it meant to- Am I-”

Grinning, Ted shakes his head.

Trent sighs, “Thanks for the makeover, I guess. I'll opt to stick with what I usually have going on though.”

“Aww, there ain’t no shame in it!”

Over his glasses, Trent glares at Ted, who quickly raises his hands in defense, “Okay, okay, I get it. You don’t have to like it. But hey, at least we had some fun, right?”

Trent rolls his eyes but can’t help but smile a little, “Yeah, I guess we did. Thanks for the… attempt.”

“Anytime. Next time I see you, we try something different?”

Trent raises his eyebrows and snorts. However, it’s not a no, which is all that matters. It’s no secret he enjoys Ted’s company anyway.

“I’m serious though. Not on all the messing with your hair, unless you’re feeling it, but… we should hang out. Sometime.”

“May I inquire as to whether you are available... right now?”

“As available as the second bathroom stall in my high school.”

Trent shoves his glasses up his nose and waves his hand, prompting Ted to continue.

“Trust me, you didn’t wanna go in there. Anyway, it’s a date!”

Blushing, Trent nods. He doesn't move to take out any of the accessories adorning his hair as he collects his things and stands up. Where’s the harm in it, really?

“You keepin’ all that in? I’m honoured.”

“Maybe it’s just too arduous to try and untangle all of,” Trent points at his hair, “this.”

“Oh sure, Sonny Moore.”

“Well, I’m not quite at that level of dedication to my hair to have people write songs about it but….”

Ted opens the door for the journalist, doing a small curtsy. Trent flushes as he exits the room, with Ted following closely behind.
