Summary: Atsumu hears a strange noise at night and makes it Osamu’s problem.


“Samu? Yer awake? Hey, Samu? Did ya hear that?”

Osamu pried his eyes open to agitated whispering from the bed bunk above his.

“No.” Osamu pulled his blanket up to his chin with a scowl. He hadn’t heard a damn thing.

“Go back to sleep, we have school tomorrow.”

“What if it’s a ghost?”, Atsumu asked louder this time.

“It’s not a ghost. Ghosts don’t exist.”

“But what if it is a ghost and it’s gonna, I dunno, eat us?”

“I hope it eats ya first so ya shut up.”

“Screw ya!”, Atsumu wailed, then gasped as a banging noise echoed through the room.

“There! There it was again.” Atsumu sounded genuinely afraid now. “Samu, help!”

With an exaggerated groan, Osamu kicked off his blanket and rolled out of bed. For someone who told him all the time that he should’ve been born an only child, Atsumu was so damn needy. He padded to the window on the opposite wall, yanked the curtain aside, and voilà-

A small, blueish-gray bird stared at him from the ledge, illuminated by the light of the full moon. A dove, huh? They had a lot of those in the city.

So that was the scary “ghost” his baby of a twin brother had gotten his undies in a twist over.

Osamu rolled his eyes before shooing the harmless animal away with a fling of his wrist.

“Ya were scared of a stupid bird.” He shook his head as he crawled back into bed.

“Samu?”

“What?” Osamu gritted his teeth, hands fisting into his blanket until his fingers cramped.

Another comment and he’d strangle him, even if he had to climb the horrible bunk bed ladder for it.

“Thanks.” Oh.

“Don’t mind.” His anger dissipated like it had never been there before. “Night, Tsumu.”

“Night.”
