Change is coming. It’s time to let go of whatever’s holding you back from exploring new opportunities in both your work and personal life.

JJ stared at his horoscope in the New York Times with a horrid sinking feeling. He’d always tried to follow the advice it offered, trusting to the stars to guide him, but surely this couldn’t be right. Let go? There was only one thing that could possibly be meant by that, and yet wasn’t it his horoscope that had exhorted him only a few months ago to hold on to his loved ones and not let anything come between them?

How could he just let go now, after years of clinging to the hope that one day Dee would be his? The horoscope had to be wrong, and yet when he checked other newspapers, and even a couple of magazines, they all seemed to be offering advice on a similar theme: Time to leave the past behind, a new chapter in your life is about to begin, important changes can only happen if you’re willing to give up on old, outdated dreams…

He swept all the papers together on his desk, ready to toss them in the bin.

“If you’ve finished with those, can I have them?” Drake asked. “Online dating isn’t working out, so I want to check the personal ads.”

“What happened to the girl you were so enthusiastic about a couple of weeks ago?

“Dumped me. We never even met in person, but she said there was no chemistry. Am I that dull?”

“Of course not, Drakey. It’s those dating sites, they attract people with unrealistic expectations. Everyone’s looking for movie stars and supermodels. They’re not interested in real people; they’re chasing an unattainable dream.”

‘Have I been doing that too?’ JJ wondered.
