Miwa awoke to the sound of a door creaking.

With a grumble, she turned on her bedside lamp, light flooding the room.

“Tobio?” She squinted at her baby brother in the doorway. “Why aren’t you in bed?”

The three-year-old shot her his usual scowl, kneading his vabo-chan plushie like a stress ball.

“You’re not telling me?” More scowling.

“Come here.” With a sigh, Miwa lifted her blanket, gesturing for Tobio to join her.

He did so without hesitation, curling up at her side like a cat. Within seconds, he was asleep.

Miwa started at the ceiling. Now what about her?
