G.G. had to remind himself, again and again, that he still needed to choose his words carefully any time he talked to Serina, but he seemed to keep making the same mistakes over and over, and she slammed her door in his face every single time, as she had just done. And then, it occurred to him why he kept doing it: Because, every time, she eventually opened the door again, face red, eyes downcast, apologizing to him for losing her temper. Something about that expression spoke to the heart of why he felt the way he did about her.
