The thrill of the chase was something Lois had loved for a long time, yet there was something about this chase that wasn't something she wanted. She didn't know what it was that was chasing her. It was slower than her, but it was tracking her scent or something, as she couldn't escape it. Doing a puff piece about the new campgrounds in the State Park was supposed to be safe. She wasn't sure what she should have expected about all of it but getting attacked, wasn't it.
Clark was back somewhere, probably dead from whatever this was. It hadn't slowed down after taking him out, but it would probably go back to eat him once it had her dead as well.
"Get the hell back!" Lois yelled before she threw a tree branch at it. She took off running again, hoping that she could get far enough away that she could figure something out to do to get away from it.
Lois made it close to where she thought she might be able to get up something that would stop it from getting her.
The wind was picking up and she was downwind; the monster thing smelled to high heaven. It made her gag. She wasn't sure she could stand being up a tree with it under her. It couldn't climb anything; it hadn't gone over Clark's body after killing him; no, it had gone around.
Lois grabbed a partially down tree and shoved it, putting it into the monster's path. When she took off running toward the rocks, she felt a sharp breeze, and when she dared to look back, the monster was gone.
There was a trail of acid out from where the monster had been. Lois looked around to make sure it wasn't just hiding, but unless it was able to fly or jump really well, there was no trail away from that spot, and she could see the trail it had left to know it hadn't just backed up far enough to where she couldn't see it. She wasn't sure it was safe to head back to the camp she and Clark had made.
"Miss Lane," Superman said as he floated down into her sight. "I removed the monster from your path."
"Did you kill it?"
"Yes. It was released to the wrong part of the world. It was meant for a more populated area as part of a test of me and who I would save. Do you want help getting back to your camp to help your friend? He was coming around when I was tracking the monster."
"Sure. That would be great." Lois wasn't sure how Superman was going to carry her. She didn't like the bridal style as it was the easiest way to carry someone.
Superman carefully picked her up, and it was bridal style. He gave her a smile before he flew upward gently, so he didn't hurt her. Unlike with some people, Superman handled her with careful gloves, and it didn't make her think it was because she was female but that she was someone he cared about. Being the main person he connected with regularly meant she knew him best. He touched her like she mattered, and it was the only reason he touched her with kid gloves.
"Oh," Superman said a few minutes later.
Lois realized she had gone a lot further away than she thought.
"What?"
"There is another emergency. I need to go." Superman set her down just shy of where she knew the camp was. He pointed in a direction. "Your camp is that way. Mister Kent is waking up."
Lois took off running toward the camp, finding Clark leaning against a rock and looking a lot worse for the wear. She stopped when she saw a bit of something blue under his pants. She looked up at his face. The hole in his pants was a lot lower than whatever underwear Clark would be wearing would be visible. She dropped down onto the ground just a few feet in front of Clark as it all came rushing to her.
"That's why you and I...oh my God, Clark. How can you? I thought you were dead. I thought it had killed you, and I couldn't..." Lois launched herself forward to wrap herself around Clark and hold him tightly as she started to cry over how emotional she was. When it was her running for her life, she had been unable to process the grief that her boyfriend was dead.
"I'm sorry," Clark said. He wrapped his arms around her, and it felt safe, like coming home.
Lois wasn't sure how long she lay in Clark's arms sobbing, but when she finally stopped, she felt like she had cried for hours. Her head hurt, and she wasn't sure how they would finish what they had come out to finish.
"It's nearly dark now. Let's just clean up the area, get some sleep, do what we need to do in the morning to make Perry happy, and then we can head home. We had planned on staying the night anyway."
"No talking about this?" Lois asked as she leaned back and poked at where the super suit was visible under the acid-burned hole in Clark's pants.
"I figured we could do that in the safety of the tent. If I hadn't been rushed, I would have fully changed instead of just taking off the cape. I'm not upset. I had planned to tell you in a few weeks. Taking you home to show you where I grew up and how I became the man I am, both the human you know and the alien I am."
"You are more than just an alien, Clark." Lois cupped his cheeks, and she made sure he was okay with a kiss before she leaned in to kiss him.
As soon as Clark's hands were on her hips, Lois knew she would make an idiot of herself asking for something they had never done before in the middle of a State Park.
Clark seemed to be on the same page as he wrapped one of his arms around her waist, and then they moved. The tent was only a little messed up, but the pair of sleeping bags in there was easy to fix.
Lois was laid back on the pair of sleeping bags, and she looked up at Clark, who was stripping off the dress shirt he had changed into just in case he was seen on camera. He worked on his pants next, leaving him in the pristine super suit.
"Are you sure?"
"You can smell me, can't you?" Lois had never felt like this before. The thought that Clark could smell when she was aroused was something that she never thought would be hot. Yet, here she was, getting wetter at the thought. She wasn't sure what kind of lover Clark would be, but she hoped he was the best kind that made her feel like she was the center of his world. There had been a few who weren't, but with the way Clark treated her outside of sex, she figured he would be. There was something about the way he was looking at her with her clothes on that made Lois shiver.
"Yes," Clark finally answered as he got his boots off to get his pants off.
Lois started to work on her clothes as Clark got the super suit off. They were naked at just about the same time, the cool night air making its way into the tent. Clark shut the opening the rest of the way since they were not wiggling around anymore getting undressed. Lois crooked a finger at him, but Clark shook his head, reached into his pack, and pulled out a condom.
"You brought condoms?"
"I've carried them with me for a little while. Not like months, just a couple of weeks." Clark blushed, but he didn't rush to do anything else.
"Always prepared?"
"Something like that. I just didn't want...I have no clue if I can even get you pregnant, but I don't want to ever hurt you."
"I'm glad of that, but we will figure the rest of it out. Let's just have a little fun? No pressure, just do whatever feels good."
Clark nodded, and he put the condom on. Lois tugged him down on top of her, and she cradled him between her legs. She reached up and brushed her fingers over his face.
"I love you," Clark said.
"I love you. It was a shock how fast and hard I feel for you, but I did fall. Just do what feels good."
"Everything with you feels good."
"Cheesy romantic." Lois drew Clark into a kiss, her hands touching him, and she felt the head of his cock brushing over her. She wasn't sure what she expected. She had seen him naked a few times when they had been with random chemicals and the like from Superman's enemies. It was never on purpose, but still, Lois knew how big he was.
Clark was slow and gentle as he entered her. He was careful to not hurt her, despite her being wet. Once buried inside of her, Clark broke the kiss and moved himself to where he was sitting up with her in his lap; it made it feel like he was even deeper inside of her. Then he laid back, putting Lois on top.
Lois gasped at the feel of how full she was, closing her eyes at the feeling it was giving her. She rocked a little and kept on as Clark started to touch. His hands were like brands on Lois' skin. Finally, Clark's hands settled on her hips, and he helped her keep the pace as she rocked on him.
Despite the coolness, it didn't take long for Lois to start to warm up and sweat. She loved the feel of his hands sliding on her, as even Superman's hands couldn't hold onto slippy, sweaty skin for long.
"I can't hold on much longer," Lois said as she wrapped her arms around Clark's neck to hold on.
"Then don't."
Lois didn't. She came holding onto Clark so hard that she would have hurt him if he was a normal human. When Lois had come down from orgasm and couldn't stay up anymore, Clark laid her down again, bracketing her body and taking his pleasure as quickly as he could. He kissed her as he came, his body shuddering from the effects of orgasm.
"Too hot," Lois said when she started overheating as the endorphins left her body. She shoved at Clark, but all he did was carefully pull out of her and then look up and down her body. Lois figured out what he was going to do before he did it. "Clark."
Clark just grinned, and he blew over her body. The cold air made Lois laugh, and she shot up to cling to him again, her breasts pressing to him, nipples hard from the cold. Clark wiggled a hang between them and thumbed at one of them.
"Ready to go again, are you?"
"Not really, but you make wonderful noises when you do that."
"All buttoned up at work. I don't think anyone would believe me about this."
"Oh, there are a few. Cat would. James would. It's all about what they know about me or wants to have me do."
"Let's not talk about Cat. She talks too much about taking you to bed, as it were."
"I've only had eyes for you from the moment we met."
"Oh, I know." Lois rubbed her nose against Clark's. "Let's clean up a little bit and then get some sleep. If you play your cards right, we might have sleepy morning sex."
Clark laughed and nodded his head before he finally moved off her. Lois was starting to feel cold again, knowing it would be even worse before they were under the sleeping bags again. The date in the park after the segment they were filming had been a good idea. She was just glad it was the two of them, and Clark was versed enough in maintaining the camera. It allowed them to be more themselves, Clark even more so.
In the future, Lois would have to do things like this again.
