From the first time he’d seen her, Oz had found Willow captivating, with her bright, intelligent gaze, her quirky sense of style, and her sweet smile. He’d wanted to impress her, make her smile, and laugh, listen to her talk. She was unlike any girl he’d ever met, more interested in computers than in fashion, and the more time he spent with her the more it seemed there was to discover. He’d barely scratched the surface of the mystery that was Willow Rosenberg.

He was pretty sure she liked him too; she’d agreed to go on a date with him, even though he’d ended up being her plus one at her friend’s birthday party. That had been a wild night in some totally unexpected ways. They’d been on other dates since, and yet somehow he still got the feeling he was her second choice, that she was only with him because her friend Xander wasn’t interested.

Well, if Xander was too blind to see what was right in front of him, it was his loss. Oz wasn’t giving up, he could wait; he was the patient sort, and Willow was worth waiting for. He wouldn’t be her second choice forever.
