Other tidbits: I always found Roberta interesting, plus the theory she was originally Madoka's teacher. The idea of this birthed when the jewelry theme came up and I remembered that when Roberta died  a shower of jewels followed. I've written fanfic like poems before but this is the first fanfic I've written that was a series of poems (in this case tankas and a haiku). This could also work for the role reversal prompt.

A wish, that's all he

needs, in order to form the

contract-- the one where

she, Kazuko, will battle

the evil plaguing the world.

A wish, which she said

with little thought and much joy,

as she spent it

on jewels: rubies, diamonds--

gems she desired to be.

A wish, that she would

eventually regret,

as in retrospect

it should've been on a man

that liked how she cooked his eggs.

A wish, that she starts

reflecting upon while

sipping some red wine,

before giving up on the men

and witches that bring such pain.

A wish, that contorts

as her gem blackens for good,

and Kazuko, depressed,

no longer cares that she is

shifting into what she hunts.

Kazuko, no more;

a witch trapped in a birdcage

replaces the teacher.
