This past weekend, I had my daughter over for a visit. For the past couple years, I’ve made her a cake for her birthday, just as my mom did for me growing up. She requested a cake of Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Funny enough, my mom also made me an Ariel cake for my birthday at the same age. I was looking through the prompts and of course, cake stood out to me.

For my 19th birthday, I asked for a rainbow cake for my birthday. I had seen them all over the internet and my mom, being a rather talented baker, made one and it was fantastic. It inspired me to then make a crocheted slice of the famous rainbow cake. My sister and I are selling crafted goods at our local pride event this weekend so it was good timing.

I didn’t use a pattern for this, so it’s a little wonky, but I had fun.
