Summary: Salix reflects on their newfound travelling party as the effects of the glimmer fish dinner take hold.

Salix lay on the deck of the yacht, staring up at the sky of stars. The tiefling and half-elf beside them were also mesmerized. They smirked, knowing exactly what had happened.

The glimmer fish that the big paladin Erek had caught earlier had been grilled up by that strange chef. While Erek himself (along with the tiny harengon Lucian strangely enough) seemed to be unaffected, everyone else who ate the fish was under some sort of hallucinatory effect.

In other words, they were all tripping balls.

Salix still had their faculties intact. The glimmer fish high was pretty tame compared to some of the things they had encountered in the Feywild. For the mortal plane however, it wasn’t bad. Looking over at the cleric Florence, Salix couldn’t help but grin. Her eyes were the size of dinner plates. The third in their little offshoot group, Hazel, was also smirking knowledgeably. Salix had only met this group recently, but they could tell that Hazel had some sort of…interesting past. It didn’t surprise them that she seemed familiar with hallucinogens.

Salix looked back up at the sky where the stars were sparkling like diamonds. They were really starting to like these adventurers. The group was always neck deep in something and Salix was living for the adventure. Besides, one day, Salix was sure they could earn a lucrative living travelling from town to town, singing of the exploits of their famous adventuring party to wild appreciation. They closed their eyes and began to imagine themselves swimming in piles of gold.

Feeling a small tug on one of the newly morphed palm leaves that made up their hair, Salix opened their eyes and looked over to see Hazel attempting to bite down on the leaf.

“Oh you don’t want to do that,” Salix told her, “You wouldn’t survive the trip if you do.”

Hazel backed down from the hair and turned back to the sky above. Salix fought to suppress a laugh. The people in the mortal realm were so fun to screw around with, especially when it came to fey stuff. Eladrin weren’t too common in these parts, so Salix had ample opportunity to hilariously misguide people.

Salix’s pet monkey Hoohoo flew down from the rigging then and landed gently on their lap. Salix smiled and pet Hoohoo’s orange fur as he curled up and fell asleep.

”Thanks for bringing me here, lil guy,” they thought, before turning once again to the sky to enjoy the rest of their little trip.
