Summary: On her way off of Krakoa for good, Gwen stops by to say goodbye to Quentin.

Gwen was so over Krakoa, she really needed to find a new way to ensure her longevity because she was totally donezo with this place. She'd already packed her stuff, picked Jeff up from Wade, and now all she had to do was say goodbye to Quentin. She wasn't sure why, but it seemed like the right thing to do. Or maybe she just wanted to see him again before he inevitably suffered yet another early demise. She shrugged her shoulders and mumbled, "Eh, whatever."

Pushing the door to Quentin's place open, she peered around the corner, and found him actually at home for a change. Usually, he wasn't here, not that she had checked in on him that much or anything. She just liked to verify his continued existence now and then. Perfectly normal ex behavior.

"Go away, I'm in a mood." Quentin sounded cranky and he didn't even look up at her.

"I didn't even say anything! Get out of my head, Quentin!" Gwen shook her head and rolled her eyes. "And you're always in a mood." She picked Jeff off the floor where he was trying to eat one of Quentin's boots, and kissed him on the top of his little shark head.

"Don't you have something better to do than bother me? I just got resurrected yet-a-fucking-gain. Let me have a little me-time, won't you?" He looked up at her with bloodshot eyes that were all glassy and weird. Ick.

Gwen tilted her head and scrunched her nose. You'd think that being freshly resurrected wouldn't leave someone looking so haggard but what did she know? She had thus far avoided the resurrection queues, which was probably a good thing because she still wasn't sure if she'd really count as a mutant. Then again Kitty Pryde did and she couldn't even get through the gates. "I can't come back later, Quentin."

"Didn't ask you to." Quentin scratched his head. "Aren't we broken up?"

That he had to ask was probably a bad sign. Gwen was so glad to be getting off this island. "Duh, but I thought it might be nice to say goodbye before I head out."

"Bye." Quentin waved at her half-heartedly.

Why didn't he seem upset? Maybe he thought she was just stepping off-island for a bit and would be back later. "I'm leaving Krakoa," Gwen clarified.

"Forever?" Quentin still didn't look impressed, concerned, or really anything other than annoyed.

Gwen nodded. "That's the plan."

Rubbing his face, Quentin leaned back in his chair. "Why?"

"Cause I can see the writing on the wall, and it ain't pretty." That sounded cool, right?

After a deep and dramatic sigh, Quentin said, "I have no idea what you're talking about."He was totally lying though, she was sure of it. There was this haunted look in his eyes that told her that he knew something bad was coming too - heck maybe he even has some secret intel. He was part of the X-Force team.

"Okay, whatever. Later dude, it's been real." Gwen blew Quentin a kiss, put Jeff down on the ground, and walked away.

"You know Jeff, I think I might actually be sad when Quentin dies a horrible death that he can't be resurrected from. He wasn't such a bad character after all. He was even kinda okay as a boyfriend." Gwen walked through the gate that would take her back to New York and didn't look back.
