Summary: Diana conducts a successful campaign before her first century is through.

There are no children on the island of Amazons. Only Diana. In her solitude, Diana has borne the attention and affections of a thousand mothers. It is a status that she enjoys, even if it does at times make sneaking about a dismal prospect.

There are also cats. Many, many cats who ensure a constant supply of kittens. Cats who spend their days sprawled on sun-soaked stone, on harbor walls or in doorways - in every place there is at least one cat.

Diana is the source of the kitten sitting in Antiope's boot. No one else would dare to presume to attempt to force her hand in such a manner. Everyone else on the island would ask, rather than try the fait accompli approach. Everyone else has seen her tactics in action. No one else is the child of their paradise.

It is not a bad choice of offering to present, she has to admit. On the facts of the individual in question.

It has a kitten's stubby tail, a white face and a silver-grey mark in the shape of her helm between its ears. Menelippe will not let her get rid of it. Nor will her sisters. In Hippolyta's case it is because she knows full well she will be the one to take care of it, in Melenopes's because she knows that if Antiope were to hold firm, she would be Diana's next attempt.

The kitten itself seems inclined to remain, firmly attaching itself to the leather with pinprick claws with she ventures a hand near it.

Antiope sighs the sigh of the overrun, and goes to find the fish and milk that had been for her dinner.
