Andy doesn't take well to lying low. She doesn't take well to being injured full stop - how many millennia must it have been, since she has been harmed for such a stretch of time? Nile's mind shies away, like trying to understand amount of money makes up a billion - but being forced into inactivity seems to be the cherry on the cake. It has been literal ages – at least bronze, Nile’s pretty certain – Scythians were bronze age, right?) since Andy's been so inconvenienced. She is very obviously not a fan. Nile gets to practice all the medical skills that are meant to get Marines back to base.

Andy insists on moving out of the safehouse the moment her body allows, to show Nile – who may be an oldest sibling, but she can read 'the baby' in that clear as day (and can’t even argue because even Booker had two hundred years on her) - what authentic camping is about. None of that halfhearted marine substitute is not a phrase Nile's ever been able to say she is familiar with before. She's guessing most aren't. And that she'll be hearing a lot of it. She hasn't spent a lot of time - objectively speaking, less than a week - but they seem like Army people.

Nicky and Joe groaning in unison - which is kind of cool, and kind of creepy at the same time - is Nile's second indication of what she's in for. But it's not like she's going to die. She's got this. Sure, training was geared towards desert environments, but she's not going to die.

Nile does, in fact, die. (Killed by a mushroom she could have sworn was edible. Which it was. Once. Andy sighs and Nicky divvies the rest up to fry for breakfast.) It doesn't last. It won't, not for millennia. The teasing she receives will last roughly as long. Nile can see the mushroom guides already. So many mushroom guides. She's going to have to find her own cave.

Putting up shelter goes better. Yusuf shows her how to tickle trout, and Andy does not get to show off the proper way to freeclimb a tree.
