Parker headed up to the roof. It was almost sunrise. She’d watched Eliot plant most of the garden from seed. There were vegetables, flowers, and some decorative plants for shade or something. She’d stopped listening at that point. It was nice, especially in the mornings before it got too hot. It was almost like a mini jungle with all the plants. She liked it. A lot.

Interrupting the quiet, Eliot cleared his throat. “Coffee?”

"Sugar?"

"Too much." Just the way she liked it.

She accepted the mug gratefully. “I love you.”

“Are you talking to me or the coffee?”

“Yes.”
