Evan Lawson paced, stopped to stare at the clock, and then started to pace some more, a distracted thought started running through his mind that he should have tried a bit more harder to coax his brother into working with pediatrics as well, instead of just the original rotations that he had done.

“Staring at the clock won’t bring them back faster, little brother.”

Frowning, he turns to glance at Hank where he sits on a couch calmly beside Boris as the older man pretends to read the paper like he isn’t paying attention to anything his partner is doing.

“I know. But why couldn’t you have added pediatric care to your resume, Hank. We could have more work during the off season and my kids could be treated in house instead of some quack I haven’t had time to look into, things could be much faster.”

“Unlikely.” Boris speaks up then, his tone a soft growl. “I will thank to you not add to my husband’s current workload, Mr. Lawson. Leave the care of your children to the person that has actively studied that topic to death and according to my sources, actually does know what they are. Now as Hank, please stop watching the clock and kindly sit down.”
