The lakeside really is a lovely spot to paint. The light on the water, shading from clear to yellow to orange and rubies as the sun sets, the colour variation where underwater rocks pool shadows, the silvery flick of a fin. It’s beautiful.

Now, there’s just enough sun left to the small brush for detailing – where has it gone and disappeared to?

A nearby bush shakes, mockingly. So does fist, on general principle. but chasing the menace does little good. It's better (and easier) to find something to distract - or trade, if that doesn't work. And it just so happens that there's half a sandwich still safely tucked away in a pocket ...

Heeee, this person is so resigned that the goose is something that happens and you need to deal with it. I also really love the imagery in the first paragraph. ♥
