Summary: Oliver learns to deal with life back in Starling City.

Oliver Queen loved his mother. Loves, present tense. But also loved, continual.

He loved his mother. He did not love her taste in pets. (Or new partners, but that was a different matter.)

Especially when she bought the pet for him. Oliver's just returned from a deserted island, there's no way anybody should expect him to be able to look after himself, let alone dumping a cat on him at the first opportunity.

For the record, Oliver did not ask for a therapy animal. Mr Grumpyface (who will respond to no other name) is not trained as a therapy animal. But his mother insists, and Oliver is not going to go against something that she appears so invested in.

On this, at least. Clearing city of its taint will involve at least some amount of danger in the personal sense, and Oliver knows her thoughts on his safety will only have gotten more stringent.

The cat is a menace. In fact, Mr Grumpyface is the most annoying creature on the face of the planet. He sheds, he shreds the (way too expensive, Oliver rigs up a replacement for less than a fifth of the price his mother paid) scratching post, he steals Oliver's socks. He also steals Thea's underwear. Oliver does not want to know his sister has thongs. He does not want to know when his sister got thongs. He does not want to know that they are purple and frilly - especially not when they're covered in orange cat hair.

Bullies him out of bed when he wants nothing but laze the day away without interacting with people. Thea and mother are borderline cases, but they still count. And then Mr Grumpyface turns around (frequently - it's possible he's part fox) and doesn’t let him get up to do a perimeter check in the middle of the night. Impossible creature.
