Sara changes the colours of her outfits to reflect planets where she’s managed to win, planets where the vault is activated and colonists establish an outpost; a splash of sandy tan, purple piping, icy blue. The Initiatives colours are … fine. She was perfectly happy to wear them, when all she’d been was a scout, even if it was the scout of a Pathfinders team. Now she is the scout for all of the humanity present in the galaxy, and diplomat, and surveyor, and the vanguard, and alien researcher, and she can never afford to take a second to breathe.

She needs a reminder, when she looks in the mirror (or a window, or a reflective panel of metal) that she is making a difference. That her father shouldn't have left her back on Habitat 7, for the good of everyone who slept six hundred years to discover the promise of life unlike anything the Milky Way had to offer.
