Habitat 7 is … well, Sara wants to forget it exists, mostly. That seems to be a common frame of mind, on the Hyperion.

 

But now that they've figured out the vault on Eos - and it's steady, noticeable effect on climate (to ship's scanners, at least) it only draws comparison to another planet, with another activated monolith, and the Nexus needs resources.

They could venture out into the rest of the cluster, take a chance on one of the vaults that the map had shown ... or they could do the smart, safe thing, and stick to familiar territory with a third of the work already completed for them. A proper Pathfinder could strike out on their own - but she isn't, not really. She just has to do the job. And a single, fledgling outpost on a single, radiation soaked (and kett infested, can't forget about the kett) enough. Hasn't been enough, for going on a year now.
