Summary:
Lucas, having reverted to human form, joins Ros and Adam in their work [Werewolf!Lucas 'verse]

"Where's Lucas?” Ros asked Adam as they followed a track through the forest.

“He’ll be along soon,” Adam replied.  “I don’t think he can have transformed back until quite late in the night and he always needs a couple of hours sleep afterwards.”

They both looked back towards the country house hotel where they were staying.  Ros spotted Lucas coming towards them and waved.

“Everything all right?” she asked, as he joined them.

“Yes, thank you.  I was enjoying the cooked breakfast, not to mention the excellent coffee,” Lucas replied.

“Now you’re here, can you tell us whether we’re on the right track?” Ros said.

Lucas looked around and grinned.  “Oh, yes.  Can you see those pawprints along the side of the path?”

“Yes, we had noticed them,” Adam said.  “What about them?”

“They,” Lucas paused dramatically, “are the footprints of a giant hound!”

“Haha, very funny,” Ros said.  “And…”

“It’s the route I took back from the hut they’ve been using as a meeting point.  The paths criss-cross quite a lot and it’s not the easiest place to find, which is why I left a trail.”

“But your paws were wet, not muddy, when I let you back in,” Adam said.

“I walked through the ornamental pond when I got back.”

“Very thoughtful of you.”

“Actually, I wasn’t sure whether someone had come down the track just after me and didn’t want pawprints to alert their suspicions.”

“Might have known it had nothing to do with keeping the room clean.”

Lucas shrugged and grinned.  They were now close to the hut and Ros held up her hand.  They crept nearer in silence.  A man and a woman outside the hut seemed deep in conversation.

“We need to move now,” the woman was saying.  “MI5 are onto us, and we can’t risk any delay.”

The man glanced at his phone.  “There’s no signal here.  I’ll get back to the hotel and send out the message from there.”

Ros gave a nod and the three of them burst out of the forest, taking the couple by surprise.  They tried to resist but were quickly overpowered.

The man looked at Adam and said, “I thought I saw your dog wandering around on his own last night.”

Lucas gave a laugh.  “I think you must be mistaken.  He was with me all night.”

The woman sneered at her partner.  “Don’t try and blame this on a dog.  Unless you wish to claim you are less intelligent than something with four feet.”

Adam and Ros carefully avoided looking at Lucas.
