Summary: Moana watched her people find the current

Moana watched with pride as two of the boys pulled their hands out of the water and quickly conferred together over the direction of the current beneath them. She had already noticed that they were veering slightly off course — after almost four years on the sea she could now recognize the shifting ripples and slight color differences that told her where the current was.

Finally, the youngsters finished their discussion and approached her. "We need to change our angle, we're losing the current," the elder boy — only a little younger than Moana had been on her first voyage — told her confidently.

"Well then I guess you'll need to tell that to the men on the rudder," she said with a smile. She'd keep an eye out, and make sure that they were correcting the course properly, but she had confidence in the duo. They were shaping up into excellent wayfinders.

Moana easily scaled the mast of her boat, and looked back at the flotilla. Some of the boats were already angling in the same direction as hers, their own wayfinders having noticed the same shift. Others were taking note of their corrections and moving to find the current as well.

All of her people were becoming excellent wayfinders and voyagers, actually. And Moana was no longer a child, yearning for something new, but a teacher and leader, just as her father had said she would be. He might not have foreseen the kind of things she was teaching, or appreciated them at the time, but Moana had enough experience now to know that her people had needed this as much as she had.

The lessons that Maui had taught her four years ago hadn't just helped her find Te Fiti, but had awakened a long forgotten heritage, and helped their people tack back into the current their ancestors had sailed. Once again, they were voyagers.

Okay, that is just awesome. Makes me so happy to think of Moana and her people on the sea, taking back their history. Wonderful!

That was lovely! It's a very nice image of how her story would go.
