Harry Potter: Fanfic: Words A Wing

  • Nov. 24th, 2021 at 10:16 PM

Title: Words A Wing
Fandom: Harry Potter
Rating: General Audiences
Length: 211
Content note: canon typical mind manipulation
Summary: Fleeing so far from Britain has some disadvantages. (Not many. But some.)

Owls are out of the question. Obviously. It takes a big bird to cross the sea, even the narrow bit between the Celtic Nations and Brittany, which is technically but not really any longer part of the Wizengamot’s domain and fief, with nowhere to rest and storms of wind and salt to contend with.

Sirius is a bit further than that contested country, after confounding his way onto one of the large muggle pleasure ships and picking himself out a nice cabin looking over the sea. He'd left the ship and her bars and nightclubs and superb smattering of restaurants five stops in, only to pick out another and do the same again, all the way down the coast of Africa. It's a good life, cheerful in a way that

Funny a jape as it would be, he can't use a flamingo. They're not built for the cold, and it's currently snowing at Hogwarts. Or has been. Or will be. It's Scotland in winter, is what he's saying. About as far from cocktails and midday siestas as you can go.

Much time is spent on the solution to the issue, until he wanders into a tour group and discovers that mountains here have eagles, which is good enough for pub music.
