Title: Over Sea Gone
Fandom: Silmarillion
Challenge: Letter
Other prompt: Elegy or Threnody
Rating: G
Length: 45
Content notes: N/A
Author notes: Thanks go to Zhie & Runa for encouragement & sanity-checking.
Summary: Out of range, not out of one's heart

Oh write them a letter,
Sing a sweet song
Paint them a picture
All the day long

Dancers are dancing
On the white shore
Seagulls are crying
Weep now no more

Ever and always
Over sea gone
Remember them fondly
The ones who've sailed on

That is absolutely lovely. Makes my heart hurt.
'Write them a letter, sing a sweet song....'

The ache of being left behind, and trying to simply go on and still find joy; memory bittersweet.

That works really well!
I especially like the idea that they are dancing...
