"Neal?" Sara asked the hotel bartender she was sure she recognized from that profile. When he turned around, she smiled briefly. "What are you doing here?" She was on a business trip to New York from London. She had no idea what Neal was up to.

Expertly handling the cocktail shaker in his hands, he replied, "Mixing drinks." And there was that trademark grin that made her want to both slap and kiss him. Bastard.

"I can see that. But why here?" She settled on a stool and crossed her legs.

That grin didn't leave. "Why do you think?"

There were any number of reasons he could be here, but she didn't want to speculate on them. "Moonlighting?"

"Peter would love that." He poured the drink into a glass and delivered it to the waiting patron before coming back down the bar to her. "What can I get you?"

"The answer to my question," she said. "You here working a case?"

"Nope. No case. No work. Just here," he answered as he began pouring various alcohols into the shaker.

"Neal - "

It took him less than a minute to mix the drink and slide it across the bar to her.

Sara looked at the drink, then back up at him. "You bastard." And wouldn't you know, all she could see was that smug little smirk.
