As hot water poured into the bathtub in his little home, Bilbo Baggins gave a sigh of satisfaction. This was something he had been wanting to do for weeks. Once he had filled the bath, he divested himself of his garments and lowered himself into the water. The feeling was glorious. It seemed that all the little bits of grime that worked their way onto his skin were loosening their grip and floating off. The aches and pains he had been carrying for so long began to ease. He sighed again and relaxed against the end of the tub with his eyes closed. A cup of tea and a good book lay nearby on the floor. He intended to take his time.
