I am awake, but I don’t want to open my eyes. At the moment, last night feels like a wonderful dream. I have no wish to spoil it with cold reality.

I feel a shift next to me, and my companion snuggles closer. I smile a little to myself. Perhaps all is well after all.

A soft kiss is brushed to my jaw. “I know you are awake, John,” Holmes murmurs.

I open my eyes and am greeted by a beautiful smile. “Good morning, my love,” I murmur back.

With gentle kisses and caressing hands, we remind each other that last night was not a dream. At last, I am his and he is mine.
