Summary: The council really should know better.

In the beginning there was a sign - please do not feed the wildlife – that hung from a post just of the smooth roll of grass into the village pond. The sign was white, fresh painted bright, and had a picture of a crocodile stencilled in black – the local council’s idea of humour.

It took several hours for this state of affairs to change, the Goose having been distracted by the wonders of modern technology. It was, admittedly, longer than more long term residents had given the sign, but a handful of hours does not a day make. The silence of a warm afternoon settles across the green like a slow moving blanket with no particular aspirations to consume.

The sign is white, and triangular, and on it’s surface sleeps a goose.
