Home Again:
Maya’s hands shake. She stills them by gripping Kendrix’s clothes and pressing close. It’s overwhelming to have Mirinoi back, but to have Kendrix and Mike back too is almost unfathomable.
Kendrix is a reassuring weight against her and Maya still almost can’t believe it.
“You were dead,” she whispers. “Karone took your morpher.”
“I asked her to,” Kendrix says, holding her tight. “I’m here.”
“I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
Maya chokes on a sob. Kendrix shifts, hands coming up to cup her face as she presses their foreheads together. Their eyes meet, then Kendrix kisses her. She’s alive.
