Frozen: Fanfic/poem: Telephone

Title: Telephone
Fandom: Frozen
Rating: G
Length: 123 words
Summary: Sometimes games can parallel life...

there is a game
that children play

where they sit in a circle
and the first whispers something to the second
who whispers what they hear to the third
who whispers in turn to the fourth
and so on

but whispers are easily misheard
and words twist and distort
between mouth and ear
and so by the time it reaches the end
it bears as much resemblance
to the original
as summer rain to winter snow

this game can reflect
reality
in a single person
when a thought travels
from heart to brain to mouth
and changes each time

and so "Do you love me?"
turns, in the end, to
"Do you want to build a snowman?"
and the answer turns
to "No"

This was just beautiful! I love poetry and this just hit me in all my soft spots. Really lovely use of language.
