Sam's boy is actually grabbing sheets from the closet, turning her couch into a tiny ass bed he can't possibly fit in when she pulls her brother aside. Sarah was gonna let him bring it up in his own time, but he's taking too much of it, and a spoonful of sugar will help the medicine just fine.

"You know I love you. No matter what, right?"

Sam, bless his heart, doesn't follow. Or maybe he's afraid, the world's changed a lot since then; she really feels like the older sibling now, doesn't matter if it didn't start that way.

"Whatever it is, Bucky did it."

She tisks, he does it the same way AJ tries to sneak extra dessert and blame his brother. "Look, maybe you forgot but this house creaks."

Sam snorts, "Nah, it ain't subtle."

And whew, is that fitting. "I don't wanna wake up to your white boy gettin' lost and rousing the whole house-"

His eyebrows come together, "What? The kitchen and bathroom are right there. I know he's like a hundred years old but-"

Sarah rolls her eyes, doesn't need to hear another old man joke. "Just have him sleep in your damn room, save us all the nonsense, yeah?"

"What do-" He stops suddenly, joy drops from his face. "Sarah, I swear to you, I wouldn't let him here if I thought he was a danger to you or the kids."

"Danger? The fuck, I don't wanna be woken up right before you two start," she hesitates, swapping the word last second to something gentler, "canoodling."

Sam chokes, man of the hour appearing next to him with a wide grin. Bucky wraps an arm around him, saying, "We would never, under your roof."

Sarah doesn't believe that one bit, not from how relaxed Sam is around him to the mischievous twinkle in his pretty boy's eyes. "Mhmm. Keep it down."

(And dammit, now she's wondering who exactly her bro is shacking up with, was way too quick with that danger shit.)
