Hold my hand
and dream of what is unplanned,
splendid serendipity,
glorious riches so grand

I dream dreams
of unicorns, and dark themes
and I wake remembering
snakes, crocodiles, strangled screams

I think things
strangely odd, eerie somethings
that go bump in the night, like
vampires, ghouls, ghosties, winged things

time holds sand
that slips along routes well-planned --
providential purpose, please
hold my hand
