Summary: Music, holding secrets, but not secret itself


It was not a secret that music was the heart and the means by which creation, making, bringing into being was accomplished, not just in Aman, but in all of Arda. Vibration was music. Percussion -- wave against shore, hammers on rock, hands shaping clay or bread or any other substance -- was music. Words were music. Music was everywhere and in every thing. Some was obvious -- humming a travel-song to ease one's way, the rhythm of a washing-song while dealing with towels and sheets -- Other music was less so. Some seemed harmless, little was entirely without peril. All music held secrets.
