Summary: Noldor stonework lasts



Schools of silvery fish darted in and out of the stone arches, empty of glass, windows only on water now, no longer lookouts for allies or enemies. Fronds of kelp and seaweed clung to the close-fitted blocks of parapets and walls, waving like the banners that once had flown from airy heights. Ulmo knew who once had held this keep against the foe, whose feet had trod the flagstone walks, whose strong voices sang virtue into roof and wall and floor. That strength remained, whelmed beneath the wave. Those voices sang in memory, in Mandos, on gem-strewn shores once more.
