My first attempt at wet-felting with both wool and non-wool fibers!






This is the best photo I took, and doesn't really do it justice. It's much prettier in person!

I was thinking about the night sky from a rooftop in a city. So the background is a red-black, with streaks of black and clouds of lighter purple. There are green and yellow flickering highlights -- again, you can't see in this photo, but those fibers shimmer and twinkle like far-away lights.

Following an online tutorial, I laid out the fibers on a layer of bubble wrap so I could wet them without getting water everywhere. I used a plastic mesh for an agitation tool, to keep the various layers together while I built the piece. I think I might need to full this further; it holds together, but it's not as sturdy as I was hoping. But it's pretty!
