original: poetry: leaving

  • Nov. 29th, 2020 at 6:06 PM
title: leaving
form: 4-stanza haiku
contents: sadness, raindrops

rain smears the windshield,
reshapes the world. reflections
flash like dragonflies

street lamps flicker by
cool chrysanthemums that bloom
and wilt in a blink

the radio sings
sad love songs in minor keys
worn, low-fi dreaming

the rain doesn't stop.
we pass another blurred sign:
airport, next exit

The imagery in this is beautiful. I love the streetlights/chrysanthemums.
