“Yeuch!” Dee pulled a disgusted face, yanking off the last strip of tape. “You’d think the damned tech guys would come up with somethin’ better than whatever the hell they use to keep wires in place.”

“Surgical tape of some kind, I think,” Ryo said, looking anywhere but at his partner. They weren’t alone in the locker room and the last thing he needed was to get caught staring at Dee’s toned body as his partner scrubbed at the sticky patches on his skin. Just thinking about Dee standing there, stripped to the waist, halfway through changing back into his own clothes was enough to make Ryo feel a bit hot and bothered.

“Yeah? Well why does it always leave me itchin’ like crazy? And why the Hell haven’t they come up with some way of gettin’ the tape off that doesn’t leave a guy all tacky? I’m almost scared to put my shirt on in case it gets glued so tight to my chest I can’t ever get it off again.”

“I don’t think that’s likely to happen; most tape residue comes off easily enough with soap and water.”

“Tell that to this stuff. Man, I’m glad I don’t have to deal with chest hair.”

“I thought you must wax. It’s not natural for a guy to be that smooth,” Ted commented, cutting in on the conversation.

Dee snorted inelegantly. “I’d like to see you wearin’ a wire!” Compared to Dee and Ryo, Ted was hairy as a bear.

Ted winced. “I’ll pass.” Shrugging into his jacket, he headed for the door. “See you guys tomorrow.”

“Yeah, whatever.” Dee was paying more attention to his chest than anything else.

“Goodnight, Ted.” Ryo turned to his partner as the door closed behind the other detective. “Still not done?”

“I swear those bastards used superglue!” Dee was still scrubbing at his skin with a damp washcloth and Ryo rolled his eyes.

“What’re you doing?”

“What does it look like I’m doin’?”

“Give me that, you’re rubbing too hard; all you’ll end up with is sore patches all over your chest!” Snatching the washcloth out of his lover’s hands, Ryo soaked it in hot water and applied plenty of soap before setting to work gently but thoroughly washing away the sticky traces.

“That feels good. Thanks, babe; don’t know what I’d do without ya.”

“If anyone comes in you’re on your own.”
