Summary: The tales spoke of lamps




The tales spoke of lamps that lit the streets of Tirion in silver-blue, in rose-gold, in bronze-green, gemstone light for the shadow-sides of walls and towers, hedges and un-illuminated trees. Lamps that had not failed of their light in the Darkening, in all the long unmeasured hours until the Moon and the Sun rose, nor after, in the times when neither of those great Lights were in the sky. They did not compete with the stars, but shone where they did not. But now, one by one those lamps were dimming, fading, going out. And no-one seemed to know why.
