Summary: Cal’s emotions are carrying him away, and he knows how dangerous that is.

Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

Cal knows Master Yoda’s words well, but they’re so hard to internalize now. How can he not be afraid when his life is in constant danger, when he’s being hunted to the death by forces so much stronger and more powerful than himself? How can he not be angry the Inquisitors killed half a dozen innocent people simply for the crime of knowing of knowing him? How can he not hate them for everything they’ve done?

Cal tries to breathe, tries to reach for the Force to calm himself. His emotions are carrying him away, and he’s heard all his life how dangerous that is. He knows the dark side is calling.

He’s terrified one day he might answer, and that just starts the cycle all over again.
