Summary: Peter's on a school trip to Chicago and bumps into the Winter Lady.

The school trip to Chicago was cool and all, but he was tired of being cooped up in a hotel room. He needed to get out and just move. He would've gone for a walk, but Ned wanted to stay and play video games. So, Peter's out on his own - as Spider-Man.

It's not late, but it's already getting dark. The night air is cooler than the daytime, but he's swinging between the buildings and enjoying this unique view.

He swings himself up to the top of one of the lower sections of the Sears Tower (wait - the Willis Tower now, right?). After DC, this shouldn't be a problem, but it's still really damned high. But, it's also a landmark of the city, so he wanted to do this at least once.

The view is pretty awesome. He can't see as much as he could from the observation deck the class visited earlier, but he can still see a lot. Even in the dark.

He shivers when a suddenly super cold wind blows across the rooftop. But there's more. Someone's there. He was hoping he could sit here a little while before security found him.

With a sigh, he tucks his feet up on the ledge and does a backflip onto the roof. When he lands, he sees a woman, her hair fluttering around her head despite the wind having died down. "Hi," he says brightly.

"Hi," the woman answers. "What brings Spider-Man to Chicago?"

He's grinning behind the mask. "Field trip."

That answer seemed to amuse her. "I see. And your field trip brought you to the roof of the Tower?"

"It is a landmark. It's on all the maps. I couldn't skip it. That would make me a bad tourist."

The woman grinned at him. "You're fun. I like you."

"Oh good. Does that mean you're not going to kill me or turn me in to some authority?" This was a concern he'd been having swinging around a new city. New York knew him, Chicago didn't.

She smiled at him. "Of course. I was just checking out the new kid in town."

"Thinking you had competition?"

"No," she said, shaking her head. "I wanted to make sure it wasn't a threat."

"Not at threat. Going home tomorrow."

"Too bad. A friend of mine would love to meet you."

Peter was stunned silent for a second. "Well, um, I'm not really looking for anything -"

The woman was laughing. "Not like that. Thank you. I needed that."

"Sorry. I thought you meant -" Peter shook his head. "Anyway, sorry, I won't have time. But, maybe I'll be in Chicago some other time."

"Maybe so. Take care of yourself, kid." Then she started to disappear in another billow of wind.

"Wait! You never told me your name!"

"Molly," she said, then she was gone.

That was weird.
