Summary: Rain and renewal



It was a rainy day in Valinor, in Tirion-on-Túna, in the fifth Age of the world. Short, heavy downpours mingled with glimpses of a watery sun, and lighter, random showers hung rainbows against the darker clouds. Rain in sunlight was very different from rain in Treelight, but no less beautiful. One could say that about many things, including many people. Certainly the Returned could be so described.

Fingon stood on one of the balconies of his mother's house, one of those newly Returned, and let the rain spangle his dark hair, patter softly on his face; wondrous to feel again.
