You did it. You defeated Kuvira and saved Republic City. Varrick and Zhu Li are getting married. It is a time for celebration, but you can't bring yourself to be happy. You lost your father just as you were reconnecting. It took you so long to work up the courage to visit him in prison, and at the time, you weren't going to forgive him. Now you have, but he is still gone. You will never have your father again.

You're supposed to be getting dressed up for the wedding, but you're stuck in this moment. Tears stream down your face, arms tightly wound trying to keep yourself together, leaning heavily against the shower wall because you can't keep yourself upright. The memory of your father's last moments plays on repeat behind your eyelids, and it takes everything you have not to fall apart completely. You can't look like how you feel at the ceremony, and you don't have much time to prepare. Shortly, you will look yourself in the mirror and put on the mask you wear when dealing with politicians and the press. But, that can wait. Right now, water pelting your skin, you let the storm rage.
